    PUBLIC ROADS.

    AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC ROADS AND STREETS IN NEW PROVIDENCE.

  15. This Act may be cited as The Public Roads Shorttitle.

    Act.

  16. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires'Minister' means the Minister charged with the responsibility for the administration of this Act;

    'owner' in respect of land means the owner or reputed owner or lessee (and in the case of joint owners or lessees or tenants in common, any one of such joint owners or lessees or tenants in common) of such land, and includes the attorney or agent of any such owner or lessee in charge thereof, and, if no such owner or lessee or agent be known or resident in this Colony, the person in possession or occupation of the land;

    'public road' or 'road' means a road in New Providence open to public use and repaired by money voted to the Minister; such term also includes all ditches, banks, slopes, causeways, bridges, walls, and other works necessary to the construction and maintenance of a road.

  17. All roads in New Providence where by nature practicable shall be twenty feet wide, exclusive of ditches and side drains, and where any road shall require to be made of such width the same shall be widened in such manner as the Minister shall direct.

  18. --(1) It shall be lawful for the Minister to take any material required for the making or repairing of any road from any land in any place in which any part Interpretation.
