CHAPTER 255.

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS (IMMUNITIES AND PRIVILEGES OF CERTAIN OFFICERS).

AN ACT TO EXTEND CERTAIN IMMUNITIES AND PRIVILEGES TO OFFICERS PROVIDED BY INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS FOR SERVICE IN THE COLONY.

  1. --(1) This Act may be cited as The International Organizations (Immunities and Privileges of Certain Officers) Act.

    (2) This Act shall be deemed to have had effect as from the first day of January 1963.

  2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires'International organization' means Theý United Nations Organization, The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and any other organization declared by Order of the Governor to be an Organization of which the United Kingdom or Her Majesty's Government therein and one or more foreign sovereign powers or the government or governments thereof are members.

  3. -(1) Whenever any person is provided for appointment to the public service of the Colony in pursuance of an agreement entered into between an international organization and Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom or the Government of the Colony, as the case may be, it shall be lawful for the Governor by Order to confer upon any such person, to such extent as may be specified therein, the immunities and privileges set out in the Schedule to this Act.

    (2) The immunities and privileges specified in paragraph 2 of the Schedule to this Act, when conferred Short title and commencement.

    Interpretation.

    Governor may confer immunities and privileges on certain officers.
