CHAPTER 106.

AGRICULTURAL MERCHANTS REGISTRATION.

AN ACT FOR THE REGISTRATION OF CERTAIN AGRICULTURAL MERCHANTS.

[29th May 1930.1

  1. This Act may be cited as The Agricultural Merchants Registration Act.

  2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires'alien',means a person who is not a British subject;

    'commission merchant or agent' means a person who buys or sells, or attempts to buy or sell, or holds himself out as being able to buy or sell any agricultural product of the Colony;

    'Minister' means the Minister charged with the responsibility for the administration of this Act.

  3. It shall be unlawful for any alien to carry on business as a commission merchant or agent within the Colony unless such alien is registered under this Act.

  4. It shall be lawful for the Minister, on being satisfied as to his fitness, to grant to any alien a licence authorizing such alien to carry on business as a commission merchant or agent.

  5. The Minister shall keep a register in which shall be entered the names and addresses of all persons to whom licences have been issued under this Act.

  6. There shall be published in the Gazette in the month of June in each year the names of all persons, 8 of 1930.
